The Business Equipment Tax Exemption (BETE) program goes into effect April 1, 2008.  It applies ONLY to certain qualified equipment first placed in service after April 1, 2007.  Applications MUST be received by the City of Augusta at the same time as the Personal Property Schedule Form no later than May 1, 2008.

Form may be completed on-line; however, you will need to print, sign and mail the form to:

Note:  Applicant signature is required to process application.

The Business Equipment Tax Reimbursement (BETR) Program reimburses local property taxes paid on qualified business personal property to businesses.  To qualify, eligible business personal property must have been first placed in service in Maine after April 1, 1995.  Applications and information is available at Maine Revenue Services, Income/Estate Tax Division.
